January 2026 is shaping up as one of the busiest months for car launches and reveals in India’s automotive market, with a strong mix of facelifts, new SUVs, and electric vehicle debuts lined up across segments. According to industry calendars and recent reports, several major manufacturers are introducing refreshed models and EVs that will define the year’s early buying season.

Mahindra’s SUV Momentum

Mahindra XUV 7XO

The launch wave began with Mahindra XUV 7XO, a refreshed iteration of the popular XUV700 SUV, introduced with updated design, technology and comfort features that keep the model relevant in the competitive mid-size SUV segment. Additionally, Mahindra’s XUV 3XO EV also debuted earlier in January, expanding its electric SUV offerings for more mainstream buyers.

Tata Punch Facelift Refresh

Homegrown brand Tata Motors has rolled out the 2026 Punch facelift, the first comprehensive update for the compact SUV. The facelift brings a refreshed front fascia, modern LED lighting signatures, larger touchscreen infotainment and safety enhancements that aim to keep Tata’s entry-level SUV competitive in its class.

Maruti e Vitara electric SUV showcased with modern design and spacious interior

In the electric vehicle space, Maruti Suzuki’s e-Vitara EV is expected to launch by the end of January, marking a major entry for one of India’s most popular manufacturers into the mass-market electric SUV segment. Build and features details have been widely previewed, and the model is anticipated to attract buyers looking for a practical EV with strong range and daily usability.

Alongside this, Toyota’s Urban Cruiser EV a rebadged electric SUV based on the same platform is also part of the January debut lineup, underscoring the mainstream shift toward electrification as well as collaborations between brands.

What’s Next in the Launch Calendar

Beyond these, other confirmed and strongly anticipated launches include vehicles like the Renault Duster mid-cycle update later in the month and the Skoda Kushaq facelift, which promise fresh styling and features in the compact SUV segment.
