The 2026 Brezza facelift brought enough changes, a new turbo engine, a fresh 6-speed manual, a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, and a longer feature list, that most buyers arrive with a stack of specific questions rather than one big one. This page collects the answers in one place, grouped by topic, so you don’t have to dig through separate articles for each.

Price and Variants

What is the starting price of the 2026 Brezza?
The 2026 Brezza facelift starts at Rs 7.40 lakh ex-showroom for the base LXi turbo-petrol variant and goes up to Rs 13.71 lakh ex-showroom for the range-topping ZXi+ automatic.

How many variants does the Brezza come in?
Four trim levels: LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+, each available across different combinations of engine and transmission.

Which variant offers the best value for most buyers?
The ZXi trim tends to be the sweet spot for most buyers, it adds the electric sunroof, wireless charging, rear AC vents and front centre armrest without stretching to ZXi+ pricing. What you give up compared to ZXi+ is ventilated seats, leatherette upholstery, and the larger touchscreen.

Engine and Transmission

What engines does the 2026 Brezza offer?
Three powertrains: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol (103 PS, 139 Nm), a new 1.0-litre turbo-petrol (110 PS, 170 Nm), and a 1.5-litre engine with factory-fitted CNG (88 PS, 121.5 Nm on CNG).

Does the Brezza still get a 5-speed manual gearbox?
No. The 5-speed manual has been dropped entirely. Every manual variant, across all three engines, now comes with a 6-speed gearbox.

Is there an automatic option on the turbo-petrol engine?
No. The 1.0-litre turbo is offered exclusively with a 6-speed manual. The 6-speed torque converter automatic is only available with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, from the VXi trim upward.

Is the Brezza’s automatic a CVT?
No. It’s a conventional 6-speed torque converter automatic, not a CVT, and not a dual-clutch unit either.

Mileage and Running Costs

What is the Brezza’s mileage?
ARAI-certified figures range from 19.96 kmpl to 21.09 kmpl depending on engine and transmission, with the 1.5-litre manual (LXi/VXi) returning the best petrol figure at 21.09 kmpl. The CNG variant returns 26.90 km/kg, the most efficient option in the range.

Is the CNG variant worth it over petrol?
For high-mileage city driving with reliable access to CNG stations, generally yes, running costs come in noticeably lower per kilometre. If you frequently drive outside CNG-covered areas or value refuelling convenience, the petrol variants make more sense.

Does the turbo-petrol use noticeably more fuel than the naturally aspirated engine?
Not by much. The gap is roughly 3 percent in ARAI figures between the two manual variants, small enough that engine choice is better made on driving character than fuel economy alone.

Safety

What Bharat NCAP rating does the 2026 Brezza have?
A 5-star rating for both adult occupant protection (30.41 out of 32 points) and child occupant protection (43 out of 49 points), tested on the ZXi+ 1.5L automatic variant, with results applicable across the entire range.

Does the Brezza come with ADAS?
No. The 2026 Brezza doesn’t offer ADAS features like adaptive cruise control or lane-keep assist on any variant, a genuine gap against rivals like the Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV 3XO.

How many airbags does the Brezza get?
Six airbags are standard across the range, along with ESC, ABS with EBD, hill-hold assist, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.

Features and Comfort

Does the Brezza get ventilated seats?
Yes, but only on the top ZXi+ variant. It isn’t available on LXi, VXi, or ZXi, regardless of engine choice.

Does the Brezza have a sunroof?
Yes, an electric sunroof is available from the ZXi trim upward. It isn’t offered on LXi or VXi.

What’s the boot space on the 2026 Brezza?
328 litres, a reasonable figure for the segment though not the largest, and the CNG variant now uses an underbody tank that preserves more usable boot space than the previous generation’s setup.

Does the Brezza have a bigger touchscreen in this facelift?
Yes, the ZXi+ gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Lower variants get a smaller unit.

Warranty and Ownership

What’s the standard warranty on the 2026 Brezza?
3 years or 1,00,000 km, whichever comes first, covering manufacturing defects across the engine, transmission, suspension, electricals, and air-conditioning system.

Does the CNG variant carry the same warranty as petrol?
Yes. Since it’s factory-fitted rather than an aftermarket kit, the entire vehicle including the engine retains full standard warranty coverage.

Can I extend the Brezza’s warranty beyond 3 years?
Yes, Maruti offers Platinum (4th year/1,20,000 km), Royal Platinum (5th year/1,40,000 km), and Solitaire (6th year/1,60,000 km) extended plans, but these need to be purchased before the standard warranty expires.

Ground Clearance and Practicality

What’s the ground clearance of the 2026 Brezza?
198 mm, enough to comfortably clear most speed breakers and moderate potholes without regularly scraping the underbody.

Is the Brezza good for highway driving?
It’s stable and comfortable at highway speeds thanks to its 2,500 mm wheelbase, though the naturally aspirated engine’s pickup above 70 km/h has been noted as underwhelming by reviewers. The turbo-petrol manual offers noticeably better highway response, but only with a manual gearbox.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the 2026 Brezza facelift worth buying over the older model?

For most buyers, yes. The new turbo engine, upgraded 6-speed manual, 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, and expanded feature list represent a genuine step up, not just a cosmetic refresh.

Which Brezza variant should a first-time SUV buyer pick?

The VXi trim is a reasonable starting point for first-time buyers, it adds automatic climate control over the base LXi without jumping straight to ZXi pricing, and it’s available with either engine and, on the 1.5L petrol, the automatic gearbox.

Does the Brezza facelift come with a diesel engine option?

No. The Brezza has been petrol and CNG only for several generations now, and the 2026 facelift continues that pattern with no diesel offered.

Is the Brezza a good choice for daily city commuting?

Yes, its ground clearance, city-friendly dimensions, and (on automatic variants) smooth low-speed drivability make it well suited to daily traffic, though rivals may offer more boot space or a plusher cabin at similar price points.
