Mahindra isn’t slowing down. Between facelifts of its bestsellers and the first products off its new NU_IQ platform, the brand has one of the busiest SUV pipelines in the industry right now. Some of these are close enough that spy shots have all but confirmed the design; others are still a year or more out and only known through patent filings and Mahindra’s own roadmap statements. Here’s where things stand on five SUVs worth watching.
Note: None of the vehicles below have received an official India launch date from Mahindra unless stated otherwise. Timelines, specifications, and pricing mentioned here are based on test-mule sightings, patent filings, and industry reporting, and should be treated as expected rather than confirmed until Mahindra makes an official announcement.
1. Mahindra Scorpio N Facelift
This is the one closest to reality. Multiple rounds of spy shots suggest the updated Scorpio N will get a redesigned front grille, reworked bumpers and air dam with horizontal slats, new alloy wheel designs, and revised LED tail lamp signatures. Inside, expect a larger touchscreen borrowed from the Thar Roxx, along with a refreshed centre console. Engine options are widely expected to carry over unchanged. Most reports point to a mid-to-late 2026 launch window for India.
2. Mahindra Scorpio Classic Facelift
Alongside the Scorpio N update, Mahindra is also expected to give the more affordable Scorpio Classic a mid-cycle refresh, likely limited to cosmetic tweaks and feature additions rather than a mechanical overhaul. It’s expected to arrive around the same window as the Scorpio N facelift, positioning the two as a coordinated update to Mahindra’s most important nameplate.

3. Mahindra Thar Facelift / Thar.e
Two things are happening with the Thar in parallel. A regular facelift of the current three-door Thar is expected with minor design and feature updates. Separately, Mahindra is developing Thar.e, a fully electric version built on the INGLO EV platform, which is expected to retain the Thar’s rugged proportions while adding a larger infotainment display and modern safety tech. Reports point to a dual-motor AWD layout and a claimed range in the 400-500 km band, with a mid-2026 launch targeted and pricing speculated in the ₹20-25 lakh region. Treat the range and pricing figures as preliminary until Mahindra confirms them officially.
4. Mahindra Vision S
This is the first production model expected off Mahindra’s new NU_IQ platform, and it matters more than its size suggests. The Vision S is a rugged sub-4-metre SUV, expected to measure under 4,000mm with a 2,665mm wheelbase, aimed squarely at the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Maruti Brezza. Reports differ slightly on powertrains, some point to petrol and diesel only at launch, others suggest petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric variants staggered over time. What’s consistent across reports is the timeline: a debut expected in late 2026, with the actual India launch pushed to early 2027.
5. Mahindra BE 07
Mahindra’s midsize electric SUV, built on the same INGLO platform underpinning the BE 6 and XEV 9e, is currently in testing and expected to debut in late 2026. Reports suggest it could be offered with 59kWh, 70kWh, and 79kWh battery pack options, positioning it against the Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti eVitara, MG ZS EV, and the upcoming Tata Sierra EV. As with the Vision S, battery and range figures haven’t been officially confirmed and should be read as expected specifications, not final ones.
The Bigger Picture
These five sit inside a much larger plan. Mahindra has indicated it will introduce 16 new SUVs between April 2026 and 2031, a mix of 10 ICE models (nine new nameplates plus one major mid-cycle update) and 6 electric SUVs, built around the NU_IQ architecture for combustion models and the INGLO platform for EVs. The Vision S is just the first of four previewed concepts, alongside Vision X, Vision T, and Vision SXT, expected to reach production between 2027 and beyond.
For now, the Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic facelifts are the most imminent, likely to be the first of this cycle to actually reach Mahindra showrooms. TechyTrends.in will update this piece with confirmed specifications and pricing as Mahindra makes official announcements.
