Maruti Brezza Facelift: What to Expect Ahead of the July 23 Launch

Maruti Suzuki has confirmed it will launch the updated Brezza on July 23, 2026, and bookings are already open at Arena dealerships and on the company’s website for a token amount of ₹11,000. It’s the first significant update to the second-generation Brezza since it launched in 2022, and the compact SUV segment it competes in has only gotten more crowded in that time.

Maruti has officially confirmed the July 23 launch date and opened bookings, but hasn’t detailed final specifications, features, or pricing yet. Everything beyond the launch date and booking window is based on spy shots, test mule sightings, and consistent reporting from multiple outlets tracking the vehicle’s testing over the past several months, not an official Maruti statement.

The engine story is the real headline here

The Brezza has been the only major player in the sub-4-metre SUV segment without a turbo-petrol option, and that’s expected to change. Multiple reports point to Maruti adding a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine sourced from the Fronx, likely making around 100 PS and roughly 148 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic. The existing 1.5-litre K15C Smart Hybrid petrol engine, good for 103 PS and 139 Nm, is expected to continue alongside it rather than being replaced.

There’s a tax angle worth noting too: petrol engines up to 1,200cc qualify for the lower 18% GST slab, while the Brezza’s current 1.5-litre unit sits in the higher 40% bracket. If Maruti prices the turbo variant close to the naturally aspirated one, expect it to pull buyers who’ve been cross-shopping turbo rivals like the Nexon and Sonet.

A CNG version is also expected, and reports suggest Maruti may switch to an underbody-mounted tank instead of the current setup that eats into boot space, a genuinely useful change for anyone using the Brezza as a daily family car.

Cabin and styling updates expected

Reports point to a larger touchscreen, possibly a 10.1-inch or 10.25-inch unit replacing the current 9-inch system, along with automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, cruise control, and a head-up display on higher trims. Ventilated front seats and ambient lighting are also expected additions. On the outside, don’t expect a dramatic redesign, spy shots suggest a revised front grille and bumper with reworked headlights and taillights, plus a fresh set of dual-tone alloy wheels.

One point some sources have flagged: ADAS may not make it into this update, despite it becoming increasingly common in this segment. This hasn’t been confirmed by Maruti either way.

Pricing

The current Brezza is priced from ₹8.26 lakh to ₹12.86 lakh (ex-showroom). Maruti hasn’t announced facelift pricing, and any specific number circulating right now is speculation rather than confirmed information. Expect a modest premium over current prices, with official figures only landing closer to or on launch day.

Who it’s up against

Once launched, the Brezza will continue competing in one of India’s most contested segments, against the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Skoda Kylaq, Toyota Taisor, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger.
