Lexus India has launched the new-generation ES 350h, a self-charging hybrid sedan priced from Rs 66.10 lakh, ex-showroom. Bookings opened on July 15, 2026, and the car comes in two variants: Exquisite at Rs 66.10 lakh and Luxury at Rs 71.80 lakh.
This is the eighth-generation ES, and it slots in below the fully electric ES 500e that Lexus launched in India back in March 2026. The 500e is priced at Rs 89.99 lakh, so the entry-level 350h Exquisite comes in nearly Rs 24 lakh cheaper, while even the top Luxury trim undercuts the EV by over Rs 18 lakh. Compared to the outgoing ES 350h, which was priced between Rs 64 lakh and Rs 69.70 lakh, the new model costs about Rs 2.10 lakh more at the base end.
Power comes from a 2.5-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine working alongside an electric motor and a newly developed lithium-ion battery, paired with an e-CVT. The petrol engine makes 186hp and 235Nm on its own, and the electric motor adds 201hp and 270Nm, for a combined system output of around 244hp. Lexus claims a 0-100kmph time of 7.7 seconds. Unlike the outgoing model, this generation gets a new eAxle setup with an integrated Power Control Unit.
Styling follows the same “Provocative Simplicity” design language as the ES 500e, so the two cars look nearly identical: Z-shaped LED headlamps, slim connected LED taillights, and electronic door latch releases instead of conventional handles. Inside, the dashboard is built around a 14-inch touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, and a three-spoke steering wheel, with far fewer physical buttons than the outgoing car.

On safety, both variants get the Lexus Safety System+ suite, which includes a Pre-Collision System, all-speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, and Lane Tracing Assist. The Luxury trim adds a Drive Monitor function on top of that. Buyers can pick from six exterior colours and two interior themes, and Lexus is backing the car with an eight-year or 2,00,000km warranty on the vehicle and the hybrid battery, plus five years of roadside assistance.
Hikaru Ikeuchi, President of Lexus India, said the new ES 350h reaffirms the brand’s “enduring commitment to the Indian market” as it continues to build out the ES range locally. The car will be manufactured in India, continuing the localisation approach Lexus used for the previous generation.
With the 350h now in showrooms, Lexus effectively gives Indian buyers two ways into the ES nameplate: a fully electric option in the 500e, and a considerably cheaper self-charging hybrid in the 350h. The company positions the ES against rivals like the BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, and Audi A6, though its closest mechanical relative is arguably the Toyota Camry, which shares the same platform.
