Maruti Brezza 2026 vs Hyundai Venue 2026: Which to Buy

This is a genuinely interesting matchup because both cars are new. The Brezza got a facelift on July 24, 2026, while the Venue underwent a complete second-generation overhaul earlier in the year, not a cosmetic refresh but a ground-up redesign with a bigger footprint, new interior technology, and its first-ever diesel automatic. Both enter this comparison with fresh safety credentials and updated feature lists, so this one comes down to genuine trade-offs rather than one car being visibly dated next to the other.

Engines and Transmissions

The Brezza’s turbo-petrol Boosterjet makes 110 PS and 170 Nm but is manual-only. The Venue’s equivalent 1.0-litre turbo makes a slightly higher 120 PS and is offered with both a manual and a DCT automatic, giving Venue buyers the flexibility to get turbo power with an automatic gearbox, a combination the Brezza simply doesn’t offer.

The bigger structural difference is diesel. The Venue’s second generation introduces a diesel automatic for the first time in the model’s history, a genuinely significant addition for buyers who want diesel’s fuel-cost advantage without giving up gearbox convenience. The Brezza has no diesel engine at all, so if diesel is a requirement, this comparison ends in the Venue’s favour immediately regardless of anything else.

Where the Brezza claws back ground is CNG. The Venue’s current lineup does not clearly offer a CNG option in this generation, while the Brezza continues to offer CNG with its redesigned underbody tank that no longer eats into boot space. For high-mileage, cost-conscious buyers specifically wanting factory CNG, the Brezza is the more straightforward option between these two right now.

Safety and ADAS

Both cars hold 5-star Bharat NCAP ratings, so neither is a compromise on core crash protection, and this is genuinely one of the closer fights in the comparison. Where the Venue meaningfully pulls ahead is driver-assistance technology: it comes with a full Level 2 ADAS suite, a more comprehensive system than the Brezza’s feature set, which bundles cruise control, blind-spot warning, and rear cross-traffic alert but stops short of full Level 2 ADAS and restricts even those features to Boosterjet ZXi and above.

If autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and similar Level 2 features are a genuine priority rather than a nice-to-have, the Venue currently has the stronger case. Both cars get 6 airbags and TPMS as part of their safety packages, so the gap is specifically in the more advanced assistance layer, not in fundamental crash protection.

Interior Technology and Space

This is where the new-generation Venue makes its strongest impression. Its dual 12.3-inch curved panoramic displays are larger than what you’d find in even the Hyundai Creta, a genuine statement piece in this segment, and comfortably ahead of the Brezza’s largest available screen at 10.1 inches on the ZXi+. The Venue’s second generation also grew physically, gaining height, width, and wheelbase over its predecessor specifically to address rear-seat space complaints that dogged the outgoing model, translating into more headroom, shoulder room, and rear knee room.

The Brezza counters with its own genuine strengths here: an electric sunroof from the ZXi trim upward, ventilated seats on the ZXi+, and a wireless charger that’s standard from ZXi. It’s a well-equipped cabin by segment standards, but it doesn’t match the Venue’s specific claim to having the largest, most tech-forward display setup currently available in a sub-4-metre SUV.

Price Comparison

Both cars start close together, ₹7.40 lakh for the Brezza against ₹8.00 lakh for the Venue, a modest gap at the entry point. At the top end, the difference widens: the Venue’s range-topping diesel automatic reaches roughly ₹15.51 lakh, meaningfully above the Brezza’s roughly ₹13.01 lakh ceiling. Some of that gap reflects the Venue’s wider engine spread, including its new diesel automatic, which the Brezza has no equivalent for at any price.

Which Should You Buy?

Choose the Brezza 2026 if you specifically want CNG with the improved underbody tank, prefer Maruti’s typically lower service costs and broader dealer network reach into smaller towns, or don’t need diesel or full Level 2 ADAS and would rather spend less for a well-equipped turbo-petrol.

Choose the Venue 2026 if diesel matters to you, especially now with the automatic option newly available, if Level 2 ADAS is a genuine requirement rather than a bonus, if you want the option of a turbo-petrol paired with a DCT automatic, or if the dual-screen interior and the second generation’s noticeably larger cabin are priorities for you.

Both are strong, genuinely current-generation options rather than one being visibly older than the other, which is unusual for this kind of comparison. The right pick here comes down to whether diesel and ADAS matter more to you than CNG availability and lower running costs, not which car is objectively better built.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the 2026 Hyundai Venue a completely new generation or just a facelift?

It’s a genuine second-generation model, not a cosmetic facelift, with a larger footprint, new interior technology, and diesel automatic transmission offered for the first time.

Does the Brezza 2026 or Venue 2026 have better ADAS?

The Venue offers a full Level 2 ADAS suite. The Brezza’s advanced safety features are more limited, restricted to cruise control, blind-spot warning, and rear cross-traffic alert on Boosterjet ZXi variants and above, without a full Level 2 ADAS system.

Which of the two offers a diesel engine?

Only the Hyundai Venue offers diesel, now available with an automatic gearbox for the first time in this generation. The Brezza 2026 does not offer a diesel engine.

Does the Hyundai Venue 2026 offer CNG?

The current second-generation Venue lineup does not clearly list a CNG option. The Brezza 2026 does, with a redesigned underbody CNG tank.
