Skoda Auto India has officially unveiled the Skoda Kushaq Facelift on 20 January 2026, marking the first major update for the compact SUV since its original introduction. The facelift brings visible design changes, a refreshed interior, and new feature additions, aimed at strengthening the Kushaq’s position in the highly competitive midsize SUV segment. This update is important for the brand as the Kushaq remains one of Skoda’s core volume models in India.

On the outside, the facelifted Kushaq adopts a more modern and premium appearance. The front end has been revised with a redesigned grille, updated LED headlamps, and a reworked bumper that gives the SUV a sharper road presence. Changes are subtle but effective, ensuring the Kushaq looks fresher while retaining its familiar proportions. The side profile is largely unchanged, though new alloy wheel designs add to the updated look. At the rear, the SUV features revised LED tail-lamps and minor bumper tweaks that help distinguish the facelift from the outgoing version.

Inside the cabin, Skoda has focused on improving technology, comfort, and perceived quality. The dashboard layout has been updated with a larger touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital instrument cluster. Material quality has been enhanced, and the interior now features a darker, more premium theme on higher variants. Comfort upgrades include features such as ventilated front seats, electrically adjustable seats, and an expanded feature list aimed at meeting evolving buyer expectations in this segment.

The Kushaq facelift also introduces new convenience features that were previously missing. A sunroof is now offered, along with improved connectivity options, wireless smartphone integration, and additional driver-assistance conveniences. Safety continues to be a key focus, with multiple airbags, electronic stability control, and other standard safety systems carried forward across the range, reinforcing the model’s strong safety positioning.

Under the hood, the facelift retains the existing turbo-petrol engine options. These include the 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engines, known for their balance of performance and efficiency. Both engines continue with manual and automatic transmission choices, ensuring familiarity for existing buyers while maintaining proven mechanical reliability. No changes to power outputs have been announced as part of this update.

With the facelift, Skoda aims to address earlier gaps in features while keeping the Kushaq’s strengths intact—solid build quality, strong petrol engines, and a comfortable ride. The updated model is expected to appeal to both new buyers and those considering an upgrade within the segment, as Skoda sharpens its product offering for the Indian market.
