Fresh digital renders of the upcoming third-generation Hyundai Creta hint at a dramatic visual transformation for India’s best-selling mid-size SUV. The new design direction appears to draw inspiration from the futuristic Hyundai Nexo, suggesting that Hyundai is preparing a bold design reset for the Creta’s next evolution.

These renders are based on recent test mule sightings and Hyundai’s latest global design language, indicating a sharper, more premium SUV aimed at maintaining its leadership in a highly competitive segment.

Nexo-Inspired Front Design Takes Centre Stage

The most striking change is at the front, where the third-gen Creta adopts a cleaner and more futuristic face. The traditional grille-heavy look makes way for a closed-off design with pixel-style LED lighting elements, similar to those seen on the Nexo.

The split lighting setup appears more pronounced, with sleek LED daytime running lights positioned high and the main headlamp units placed lower on the bumper. A redesigned bumper with sharper lines and squared-off edges enhances the SUV’s road presence and modern appeal.

Sharper Profile and More Muscular Proportions

From the side, the rendered Creta looks noticeably more muscular. Strong character lines, a sculpted clamshell-style bonnet, and prominent wheel arches give the SUV a wider and more planted stance.

Large alloy wheels, flush-type door handles, and a slightly sloping roofline contribute to a more upmarket look. The overall silhouette suggests Hyundai is aiming to push the Creta closer to a global-SUV aesthetic rather than a market-specific design.

Rear Styling Moves Toward a Tech-Forward Look

At the rear, the renders showcase connected LED tail-lamps with a pixel-inspired lighting signature. A redesigned tailgate, upright stance, and chunkier bumper give the SUV a more solid and confident appearance.

Roof rails and a sporty rear spoiler further enhance the Creta’s SUV character, while the cleaner surfacing reflects Hyundai’s evolving design philosophy.

Interior Expected to See Major Upgrade

While the renders focus on exterior design, the third-generation Creta is expected to receive a significant interior overhaul. A more horizontal dashboard layout, larger dual-screen setup for infotainment and instrumentation, and improved material quality are likely.

Advanced features such as panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, connected car technology, and Level 2 ADAS are expected to strengthen the Creta’s premium positioning in the segment.

Engine Options Likely to Continue With Proven Line-Up

Mechanically, the next-gen Creta is expected to retain Hyundai’s familiar 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options, including turbocharged variants. Multiple transmission choices, including manual and automatic gearboxes, are likely to continue, ensuring broad buyer appeal.

This strategy would allow Hyundai to focus on design, features, and technology upgrades while maintaining reliability and efficiency.

What This Means for the Mid-Size SUV Segment

The bold Nexo-inspired design direction signals Hyundai’s intent to future-proof the Creta against increasing competition. With rivals raising the bar on styling and technology, the third-generation Creta appears set to arrive with a stronger visual identity and a more premium feel.

As one of India’s highest-selling SUVs, a successful generational leap will be crucial for Hyundai to retain its dominance in the mid-size SUV space.
