Škoda Auto India has expanded its presence in the Northeast region by opening its first dealership in Shillong, Meghalaya. The new showroom marks the brand’s entry into the state and represents an important step in strengthening its sales and service network across emerging markets in India.

The dealership is located in Laitkor Rngi in Shillong and operates in partnership with SSB Automobiles Pvt. Ltd. It functions as a full 3S facility, offering sales, service, and spare parts under one roof. The showroom operates under the name Lai Jong Škoda and aims to provide customers in the region with easier access to the company’s vehicles and after-sales support.

The showroom area covers around 3,000 square feet and has the capacity to display four vehicles at a time. Along with the showroom, the facility includes a service center spanning approximately 7,250 square feet. The service workshop is equipped with three service bays to handle maintenance and repair requirements for Škoda customers.

The new dealership follows Škoda’s global Modern Solid design philosophy, which focuses on creating a consistent brand experience across its retail outlets worldwide. The design emphasizes a clean layout, modern interiors, and customer-friendly spaces that improve the overall showroom experience.

Customers visiting the dealership will have access to Škoda’s full range of vehicles available in India. This includes models such as the Kylaq, Kushaq, Slavia, and Kodiaq. In addition to vehicle sales, the dealership will provide after-sales services including regular maintenance, repairs, and access to genuine spare parts.

Škoda Auto India has been steadily expanding its dealership network across the country in recent years. The company has significantly increased its number of customer touchpoints as part of its strategy to reach buyers beyond major metropolitan cities.

The expansion into Shillong highlights the company’s focus on growing markets in Northeast India. The region has been witnessing gradual growth in automobile demand as infrastructure improves and consumer purchasing power increases.

By establishing a dealership in Shillong, Škoda aims to improve accessibility for customers in Meghalaya and nearby states. Local availability of sales and service facilities can help build customer confidence and support long-term ownership experiences.

The expansion of dealership networks has become an important strategy for automakers operating in India. A wider presence allows companies to reach new customers while also strengthening after-sales support, which plays a crucial role in customer satisfaction.

With the opening of its first dealership in Shillong, Škoda Auto India continues to strengthen its national footprint while bringing its vehicles and services closer to customers in new regions across the country.
