Ola Electric Mobility Ltd has reduced the price of its Roadster electric motorcycle range, with the entry-level variant now starting at ₹79,999 (ex-showroom). The revised pricing is part of a limited-period promotional campaign and applies to select battery configurations within the Roadster lineup.

The price revision is significant because it narrows the gap between electric motorcycles and comparable entry-level petrol bikes in India. With electric two-wheelers competing increasingly on affordability, this move positions the Roadster as a more accessible option for mainstream commuters.

The updated pricing structure covers the Roadster X variants, which are offered with multiple battery pack options. Depending on battery capacity and features, prices now range upward from ₹79,999 for the base model. Higher-capacity variants continue to be priced at a premium but have also received reductions under the campaign.

Ola Electric has been expanding its motorcycle portfolio beyond electric scooters, aiming to diversify its product mix. By adjusting pricing, the company is seeking to stimulate demand in the electric motorcycle segment, which remains smaller compared to electric scooters in overall EV registrations.

The Roadster range targets urban and semi-urban riders looking for daily commuting solutions with lower running costs. Electric motorcycles are increasingly being positioned as alternatives to traditional 100–125cc petrol bikes, particularly as fuel prices and maintenance costs influence buying decisions.

Industry observers note that competitive pricing plays a critical role in accelerating EV adoption in the two-wheeler segment. Entry-level affordability is often the deciding factor for first-time buyers considering a switch from internal combustion engine models to electric options.

While the revised pricing is currently linked to a promotional campaign, the company has not clarified whether the reductions will be permanent. Buyers are advised to confirm variant-wise pricing and availability at authorised dealerships.

The move reflects intensifying competition in India’s electric two-wheeler market, where manufacturers are adjusting pricing strategies to maintain volume growth and improve market share.

With the starting price now under ₹80,000 (ex-showroom), the Roadster becomes one of the more aggressively priced electric motorcycles in the country, strengthening its value proposition in a price-sensitive segment.
