Mercedes-Benz India has launched the Mercedes-Maybach GLS Celebration Edition in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 4.10 crore. The announcement was made in January 2026 and marks a milestone for the brand’s ultra-luxury SUV portfolio in the country.

The Celebration Edition is based on the Maybach GLS 600 and continues to be locally assembled in India. India remains the first market outside the United States to assemble the Maybach GLS, underlining the growing importance of the Indian luxury car market for Mercedes-Benz India.

There are no changes to the mechanical setup in this special edition. Power comes from a 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. The engine produces 550 bhp and 770 Nm of torque and is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission sending power to all four wheels.

The driving experience of the Maybach GLS continues to prioritise comfort and refinement. The mild-hybrid system supports smooth acceleration, while the advanced air suspension is tuned to deliver a soft and composed ride, especially for rear-seat occupants.

The Celebration Edition stands out primarily through its enhanced luxury package. The cabin features premium Manufaktur leather upholstery and a chauffeur-focused layout with individual rear seats, replacing the conventional rear bench. A full-length centre console separates the rear seats and improves comfort and privacy.

Key comfort and luxury features offered in the Celebration Edition include:

  • Individual rear seats with heating, ventilation and massage functions
  • Rear MBUX tablet for infotainment and comfort control
  • Folding rear tables for work or relaxation
  • Refrigerated compartment for beverages
  • Multi-colour ambient lighting

Rear-seat comfort remains the highlight of the SUV. Generous legroom, plush cushioning and high levels of noise insulation create a calm and relaxing environment, making the Celebration Edition particularly suited for chauffeur-driven use.

In terms of technology, the SUV is equipped with a high-end Burmester surround sound system with Dolby Atmos support. A 360-degree camera system aids parking and manoeuvring, while multiple drive and comfort modes allow occupants to customise the ride experience.

On the exterior, the Celebration Edition features exclusive dual-tone paint options that enhance its visual appeal. Large 23-inch alloy wheels and signature Maybach design details further reinforce its ultra-luxury positioning on the road.

With the launch of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS Celebration Edition, the brand aims to cater to buyers seeking exclusivity, rear-seat comfort and brand prestige. The special edition strengthens Mercedes-Benz’s presence in India’s growing ultra-luxury SUV segment while staying true to the Maybach focus on comfort and refinement.
