Auto component supplier IAC India is in early-stage discussions with multiple original equipment manufacturers, including JSW Motors, as part of a strategy to widen its customer portfolio. The company is looking to reduce reliance on a single major client and build a more diversified revenue base, according to senior company officials.

This move is significant for India’s automotive ecosystem because supplier concentration remains a structural risk for many component makers. By engaging with emerging and expanding OEMs, IAC India aims to strengthen revenue stability and align itself with new vehicle development programs in both passenger and commercial vehicle segments.

IAC India manufactures interior systems such as instrument panels, door trims, headliners, centre consoles and integrated cockpit modules. These components are supplied to vehicle manufacturers for both internal combustion engine models and electric vehicles. As Indian OEMs continue upgrading cabin quality and feature integration, interior systems suppliers are playing an increasingly critical role in product differentiation.

Currently, a substantial portion of IAC India’s revenue is derived from one principal OEM customer. This concentration has prompted the company to explore relationships with additional manufacturers. Discussions with JSW Motors and other potential clients are still at an early stage, and no formal agreements have been announced.

The company operates multiple manufacturing plants in India, including facilities dedicated to large OEM programs. With an established footprint and production capabilities, IAC India is positioned to support both high-volume mass-market vehicles and premium offerings that require more advanced interior integration.

In the commercial vehicle space, demand for enhanced cabin comfort is rising. Fleet operators and manufacturers are increasingly incorporating features such as improved seating ergonomics, climate control systems and upgraded dashboard layouts. This shift creates new opportunities for interior component suppliers, especially as commercial vehicles evolve to meet higher driver comfort standards.

Financially, IAC India reported revenue of over ₹1,200 crore in the previous fiscal year and is targeting double-digit growth in the current financial cycle. Expanding its client mix forms a key part of this growth strategy, alongside operational efficiency improvements and capacity optimisation.

For JSW Motors, which is in the process of building its automotive footprint, partnerships with established component suppliers will be critical as it develops its product pipeline. While discussions remain preliminary, the development signals ongoing activity in India’s supplier ecosystem as both legacy and new OEMs prepare for future vehicle .

As competition intensifies and new entrants reshape the market, supplier strategies are increasingly aligned with broader vehicle demand trends. Recent data showing Maharashtra Leads Commercial Vehicle Sales Q3 FY2025-26 underscores the strength of freight and logistics activity, which directly influences component sourcing and production planning.
