According to Hyundai, the sales milestone translates to an average of over 550 units sold per day across the year, reflecting consistent demand rather than dependence on festive or year-end spikes. Monthly sales data through 2025 shows the Creta regularly posting 15,000 to 18,000 units per month, with several months crossing the 17,000-unit mark, underlining steady buyer interest throughout the year.

The strong annual performance comes during a milestone year for the model, as the Creta completed ten years in the Indian market in 2025. Since its debut, the SUV has maintained a high-volume sales trajectory, adapting to changing market conditions through generational updates, feature enhancements, and powertrain diversification. Hyundai stated that cumulative sales of the Creta in India have now crossed well over 10 lakh units, placing it among the most successful SUVs in the country.

Hyundai said the Creta currently commands more than 34 percent market share in the mid-size SUV segment. The company added that between 2016 and 2025, the model has delivered a compound annual growth rate of over 9 percent, despite the segment becoming increasingly crowded with new entrants and frequent model refreshes from competitors.

Variant-wise sales data from 2025 indicates a clear shift toward higher trims, reflecting rising demand for advanced safety systems, connected car features, and premium interiors. Hyundai also highlighted that a growing proportion of buyers are opting for automatic transmissions, mirroring broader trends in urban driving conditions. The SUV has also seen strong traction among first-time car buyers, alongside repeat customers upgrading from earlier generations of the Creta.

Powertrain flexibility has remained a key contributor to sales stability. The Creta continues to be offered with petrol, turbo-petrol, and diesel engine options, allowing it to cater to a wide range of usage requirements, from city commuting to long-distance touring. Hyundai’s approach of maintaining multiple engine choices has helped the model retain relevance amid shifting consumer preferences and regulatory changes.

Region-wise sales performance has shown balanced demand across metro cities and non-metro markets, with Hyundai noting particularly strong uptake in Tier II and Tier III cities. This broad geographic spread has played a role in sustaining monthly volumes and reducing volatility in sales performance across the year.

Hyundai said the record annual sales figure strengthens its leadership in the Indian SUV market and reflects the company’s focus on localisation, continuous product updates, and after-sales support. The automaker added that the Creta’s 2025 performance provides a strong foundation as it continues to position the SUV as a core pillar of its India strategy.
