Bengaluru-based startup E3 Electric.AI has launched its first product, the Trion electric scooter, with prices starting at ₹99,999 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The scooter goes up against established players like Ather Energy and well-funded newer entrants like River Mobility in a segment that’s only getting more crowded.
The Trion comes in three variants: C1, C1x, and C2. The entry-level C1 is priced at ₹99,999 and gets a removable 2.3 kWh LFP battery, useful if you can’t charge at home and need to lug the pack up to a flat instead. The C1x and the range-topping C2 move to a fixed 3 kWh LFP unit, priced at roughly ₹1.10 lakh and ₹1.20 lakh respectively.
Range is one area E3 is leaning on to stand out. The company claims an IDC-rated 165 km on the C1x, though it hasn’t disclosed a figure for the C1 yet. Expect that real-world number to come in noticeably lower once you factor in city traffic and AC-adjacent load, as is typical with IDC claims across the segment. The C2 tops out at a claimed 82 kmph and does 0-40 kmph in 6 seconds, numbers that put it in decent contention within its price band.
All three variants run on a PMSM hub motor, and E3 is making a specific point of its repair-friendly design: the rim is detachable from the hub motor, so a damaged wheel can reportedly be fixed at a local workshop instead of shipping the whole motor assembly back to a service centre. That’s a genuinely practical call for a market where service network reach still varies a lot by city.

On the software side, the Trion ships with what E3 calls a connected platform, built around its COMMANDCENTER and TRIPSENSE cockpit, a 5-inch display, and claimed AI-based diagnostics under the HEALTHSCAN name, including predictive maintenance alerts and trip planning with charger locations. The scooter also gets 14-inch wheels, larger than most rivals in this price range, along with IP67 weather sealing and dual projector LED headlamps.
E3 is backing the battery with an extended warranty of up to 8 years or 1 lakh km, a figure that will matter more to buyers than most of the software talk once the newness wears off.
The company, founded in 2024 and headquartered in Electronic City, Bengaluru, says it has been granted 13 patents and has more than 40 IP filings pending. It was also named among the NASSCOM Emerge 50 Awards 2025 winners. Pre-bookings are open in Bengaluru, with an experience centre planned in Koramangala from August 15. Deliveries are expected to begin in September 2026, with other markets to follow after the Bengaluru rollout.
For now, E3 remains an unproven name next to Ather or TVS, and the real test will be whether its service network can back up the repair-friendly design claims once scooters are actually on the road in meaningful numbers.
