Kawasaki is trying to make its middleweight motorcycles more appealing to buyers by offering limited-time discounts on the Z650 and Z650RS in India. These price reductions are designed to improve value for money and attract riders who have been considering stepping into the premium 650cc segment.

Price Cuts on Both Models

The standard Z650 receives a price reduction of around ₹27,000, while the retro-styled Z650RS gets a slightly lower benefit of about ₹20,000.

With these discounts applied, the Z650 becomes more accessible, with its price dropping to just under the ₹7 lakh mark, while the Z650RS now sits around ₹7.6 lakh. This move brings both bikes closer to a wider group of enthusiasts who were previously hesitant due to pricing.

Offers Limited to Specific Units

It’s important to note that these benefits are not available on all units. The discounts apply only to MY25-manufactured bikes, and availability may vary depending on dealership stock. Additionally, the offer is valid only for a limited period, meaning interested buyers will need to act quickly if they want to take advantage of the reduced pricing.

Same Proven 649cc Engine

Mechanically, both bikes remain unchanged. They continue to be powered by a 649cc parallel-twin engine that produces around 68 hp and 64 Nm of torque.

This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and is known for its smooth power delivery and strong mid-range performance. Whether it’s city riding or highway cruising, the engine offers a balanced and enjoyable experience.

Two Distinct Styles for Different Riders

While both bikes share the same engine, they cater to different tastes. The Z650 follows a modern naked streetfighter design, while the Z650RS offers a retro-inspired look with classic styling elements. This gives buyers the flexibility to choose between a sporty or classic design without compromising on performance.

A Unique Position in the Market

Interestingly, the Z650 twins occupy a niche position in India. With most competitors moving towards higher-capacity engines in the 750–800cc range, these 650cc bikes face relatively limited direct competition. This makes them an attractive option for riders who want a twin-cylinder motorcycle without stepping into a much higher price bracket.
