Omega Seiki Mobility has expanded its electric vehicle portfolio by entering the fast-speed electric two-wheeler segment with the launch of its new scooter, Vextra. The move marks the company’s entry into personal electric mobility after building a presence in the commercial EV space.
With Vextra, Omega Seiki Mobility is targeting urban commuters who are looking for a practical electric scooter that offers higher speeds and usable real-world range for daily travel.
Positioning and Purpose
The Vextra has been positioned as a fast-speed electric scooter aimed at everyday commuting. Unlike low-speed electric scooters that are restricted to limited top speeds, the Vextra is designed to comfortably handle city traffic while offering better performance for longer daily rides.
The scooter will be produced at the company’s manufacturing facility in Faridabad and will be sold through Omega Seiki Mobility’s expanding dealer network.
Battery, Motor, and Performance
The Vextra is powered by a lithium-iron phosphate battery with a capacity of 3.45 kWh. This battery is paired with a 3 kW hub-mounted electric motor, allowing the scooter to reach a top speed of up to 70 km/h.
Omega Seiki Mobility claims a real-world riding range of over 110 km on a single charge, making the Vextra suitable for regular commuting without frequent charging. The scooter is also capable of handling gradients of up to 12 degrees, which should be adequate for flyovers and inclined roads in urban areas.
Charging from a low state to around 80 percent is expected to take approximately four hours using a standard charger.
Ride Modes and Features
To suit different riding needs, the Vextra offers three riding modes: Eco, City, and Sport. These modes allow riders to prioritize range, balanced performance, or quicker acceleration depending on road conditions.
Feature highlights include a colour LCD display that provides essential ride information such as speed, battery status, and range. Additional convenience features include USB charging and a reverse assist function to help with parking in tight spaces.
The battery and motor are rated for dust and water resistance, helping ensure durability in varied weather conditions.
Focus on Safety and Practicality
The Vextra has been developed with everyday usability in mind. Its chassis and components are tuned for city riding, while the electric drivetrain delivers smooth and quiet operation. The scooter’s design prioritizes stability and ease of use, especially for riders transitioning from petrol scooters to electric mobility.
Market Outlook
With the launch of the Vextra, Omega Seiki Mobility aims to capture a share of India’s growing fast-speed electric scooter market. Rising fuel prices, increasing awareness of electric mobility, and improving charging infrastructure continue to support demand in this segment.
The company’s entry into personal electric two-wheelers signals a broader strategy to diversify its product lineup and reach a wider customer base beyond commercial EV users.
