New spy shots and insider reports confirm that the Tata Motors Nexon compact SUV is inching closer to a facelift launch in 2026, with fresh exterior and interior design cues appearing on recent test mules and leaked renders. The updates aim to modernize the Nexon’s look and features, helping it stay competitive in India’s fast-moving compact SUV segment.

Exterior design updates

Spy images and leaked design cues suggest the facelifted Nexon will adopt a more aggressive split-grille design inspired by the Tata Curvv and Sierra concepts, giving the front fascia a bolder presence. The new layout is expected to include sharper LED headlights, a wider DRL strip and revised alloy wheels, helping the exterior feel both modern and distinctive.

At the rear, the updated Nexon is likely to feature a reshaped boot design, connected LED tail lights and revisioned bumper profiles that bring the look closer to Tata’s evolving design language.

Interior and feature improvements

Inside the cabin, the facelift should bring incremental updates rather than a complete overhaul. Reports indicate Tata may offer:

  • A larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system

  • Wireless phone charging and updated center console styling

These updates aim to keep the Nexon’s tech suite up to date with rivals while retaining its practical layout.

Powertrain and availability

Most existing powertrain options including the 1.2-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines are expected to carry over to the facelifted model, with transmission choices such as manual, AMT and potential dual-clutch options continuing for broader buyer appeal.

While Tata Motors hasn’t confirmed an official launch date, the facelift is widely expected to arrive in 2026, aligning with the brand’s broader product refresh cycle in India.

The Nexon is one of Tata’s top-selling SUVs in India, and keeping it fresh with design and tech updates is crucial as rivals like the Mahindra XUV 3XO, Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Hyundai Venue continue innovating. A facelift will help Tata maintain the Nexon’s appeal in the compact SUV battlefield.
