Skoda Auto India has once again stirred excitement ahead of the 2026 Skoda Kushaq facelift launch with a fresh teaser that showcases key design and lighting updates for the popular midsize SUV. The teaser released just days before the SUV’s expected unveiling offers clearer glimpses of its updated front and rear styling, signaling a significant visual evolution from the outgoing model.

Sleeker Look with Connected DRLs

The latest teaser focuses heavily on the new LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and lighting signature. At the front, the facelifted Kushaq is teased with a full-width LED light bar and segmented DRL pattern, giving the SUV a more modern and premium face compared to the current design. A revised grille also appears to stretch wider across the front fascia, enhancing road presence and visual width.

At the rear, Skoda’s designers seem to have introduced illuminated SKODA lettering flanked by a connected LED strip, a trend seen on other new Skoda models globally. This rear lighting update aims to boost visual appeal and brand identity while keeping the SUV competitive in the increasingly crowded compact SUV segment.

Bollywood-Themed Teaser Campaign

Interestingly, Skoda’s teaser campaign incorporates a Bollywood-inspired narrative, drawing visual cues from the iconic film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Set against a scenic mustard-field backdrop reminiscent of romantic cinema moments, the teaser carries the tagline Get ready to fall in love, suggesting that Skoda is positioning the Kushaq facelift as not just an upgrade but a more emotional purchase proposition for buyers.

More Than Just Design Changes

While the recent teasers have focused mainly on exterior styling and lighting, industry reports indicate the facelift could also bring substantive feature and technology upgrades. Expected additions include a panoramic sunroof, a fully digital instrument cluster, and an upgraded infotainment system with refreshed graphics. There are even hints of segment-first features, such as a rear-seat massage function on higher trims, aimed at elevating interior comfort and luxury.

Safety and driver-assistance tech could also see a notable boost, with Level 2 ADAS offerings such as adaptive cruise control and lane assist expected to be introduced, along with a 360-degree camera for easier parking and maneuvering.

Launch Timeline & Market Context

The 2026 Kushaq facelift represents Skoda’s first major mid-cycle update since the SUV’s original launch in 2021, and comes amid intensified competition in India’s compact SUV segment from rivals like the Tata Sierra, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, and revamped Kia Seltos models. Industry watchers expect the updated Kushaq to be revealed officially around January 20, 2026, with launch and booking details soon to follow.

With its refreshed design, improved lighting signature, and a suite of modern features, the 2026 Skoda Kushaq facelift aims to reassert the brand’s strength in one of India’s most popular automotive segments.
