French carmaker Renault has officially launched the all-new Renault Duster 2026 in India at a starting price of ₹10.49 lakh. This marks the return of one of India’s most iconic SUVs, which once played a major role in shaping the mid-size SUV segment.
The new-generation Duster arrives after a long gap and is built from the ground up with a completely new design, updated technology, and modern powertrain options. It is aimed at reclaiming its position in a highly competitive segment dominated by popular SUVs.
Bold New Design With Strong Road Presence
The 2026 Duster comes with a completely fresh design that looks more rugged and modern than its predecessor. It features a bold front grille, muscular body cladding, and distinctive Y-shaped LED lighting elements that give it a strong SUV character.
The SUV is based on a new platform and has been engineered for global markets, including India. It retains its tough and practical nature while adding a more premium and contemporary appeal, making it suitable for both city use and rough terrains.
Multiple Engine Options Including Hybrid
The new Duster is offered with multiple engine options to suit different buyers. At launch, it gets 1.0-litre and 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engines, delivering a balance of performance and efficiency.
In addition, Renault has confirmed that a strong-hybrid powertrain will be introduced later, likely around the festive season.
This hybrid system combines a petrol engine with electric motors to deliver a total output of around 160 hp and 172 Nm, improving fuel efficiency and reducing emissions.
Notably, Renault has chosen not to offer a diesel engine this time, focusing instead on petrol and hybrid technologies.
Feature-Rich Cabin With Modern Technology
Inside, the 2026 Duster gets a completely revamped cabin with a strong focus on comfort and technology. The SUV is equipped with dual digital screens, including a touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster.
Other expected features include a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, and connected car technology, along with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), making the new Duster significantly more modern than the previous model.
The interior design emphasizes practicality and durability while offering improved materials and better overall cabin quality.
Built for Indian Roads With Improved Safety
Renault has designed the new Duster to handle a variety of road conditions. The SUV has undergone extensive global testing, covering extreme climates and terrains to ensure reliability.
Safety features include multiple airbags, electronic stability control, and advanced driver aids. The new platform also enhances structural strength and driving stability, making it more secure for both city and highway use.
Positioned in a Highly Competitive Segment
The new Duster will compete in the crowded mid-size SUV segment against models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Honda Elevate.
With its aggressive pricing starting at ₹10.49 lakh and strong brand recall, Renault is aiming to attract both loyal customers and new buyers looking for a rugged yet modern SUV.
