March 2026 has turned into a golden opportunity for electric vehicle buyers in India, as major automakers have announced massive discounts on EVs, with benefits going up to ₹10 lakh. Leading brands like Hyundai, Mahindra, and Tata Motors are offering attractive deals to boost sales and attract new customers into the EV segment.

These discounts come in the form of cash benefits, exchange bonuses, and corporate offers, making electric cars more affordable than ever before.

Hyundai Leads With Massive ₹10 Lakh Discount

The biggest highlight of this month’s offers comes from Hyundai, which is offering discounts of up to ₹10 lakh on the premium Hyundai Ioniq 5. This flagship electric SUV is known for its futuristic design, long driving range, and ultra-fast charging capabilities.

With such a massive price cut, the Ioniq 5 becomes significantly more appealing to buyers looking for a premium electric vehicle. The offer is expected to clear existing inventory while attracting customers who were previously hesitant due to the high price.

Mahindra EVs Get Strong Benefits

Indian automaker Mahindra is also offering attractive discounts across its electric lineup. The popular Mahindra XUV400 is available with benefits of up to ₹4 lakh, making it one of the most value-driven EVs in its segment.

In addition, newer models like the Mahindra XEV 9e are also being offered with discounts of nearly ₹3 lakh. These offers are expected to strengthen Mahindra’s position in the growing EV market and attract more buyers in the mid-range category.

Tata Motors Offers Across Its EV Lineup

As one of the leaders in India’s EV space, Tata Motors has also joined the discount wave with offers on multiple models. The Tata Curvv EV is available with benefits of up to ₹3.8 lakh, while the Tata Nexon EV gets discounts of around ₹1.2 lakh.

For budget-conscious buyers, the Tata Tiago EV comes with benefits of up to ₹2.1 lakh, making it one of the most affordable electric cars in India. These offers further strengthen Tata’s dominance in the mass-market EV segment.

Why Are Automakers Offering Such Big Discounts?

The surge in discounts across electric vehicles is driven by several factors. Automakers are looking to clear older stock, especially vehicles from previous production batches, while also making space for upcoming models.

At the same time, competition in the EV segment is increasing rapidly. With more brands entering the market, companies are using discounts as a strategy to stay competitive and attract new buyers.

Another key reason is the growing push toward electric mobility in India. By offering significant price cuts, manufacturers aim to make EVs more accessible and encourage more people to switch from petrol and diesel vehicles.

Is This the Right Time to Buy an EV?

For buyers considering an electric vehicle, March 2026 presents a rare opportunity to save big. With discounts ranging from ₹1 lakh to ₹10 lakh, customers can get premium and budget EVs at much lower prices than usual.

However, these offers are typically limited-time deals, and availability may vary depending on the location and stock. Interested buyers should check with dealerships as soon as possible to take advantage of these benefits.
