Expanding Nissan’s Line-Up in India

The Gravite becomes Nissan’s second mass-market passenger vehicle in India. The company has relied heavily on the Magnite for volumes, and the addition of a compact MPV allows it to participate in another high-demand category.

Seven-seater vehicles in the affordable bracket continue to attract steady interest, particularly among buyers upgrading from smaller hatchbacks or entry sedans.

Built on the CMF-A+ Platform

The Gravite is underpinned by the CMF-A+ platform. While it shares its base architecture within the alliance, Nissan has applied its own exterior styling elements.

The front design carries Nissan’s signature grille treatment along with revised headlamp detailing. The overall proportions remain compact, keeping the vehicle suited for urban driving conditions.

Engine and Transmission Choices

Powering the Gravite is a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. The setup is tuned for efficiency and daily commuting needs.

Transmission options include:

  • 5-speed manual gearbox
  • AMT (Automated Manual Transmission)

This combination allows buyers to choose between conventional manual control and automatic convenience.

Interior Layout and Features

The cabin follows a functional layout with a focus on seating flexibility. The third row can be adjusted or removed depending on passenger and luggage requirements.

Expected feature highlights include:

  • Touchscreen infotainment system
  • Smartphone connectivity support
  • Dual airbags
  • ABS with EBD
  • Rear parking sensors

Feature availability may vary across variants.

Competitive Pricing Focus

The Gravite is expected to be positioned in the sub-₹10 lakh (ex-showroom) bracket. Pricing in this range places it directly within the entry-level MPV segment, where affordability remains a key purchase factor.

With the launch of the Gravite, Nissan strengthens its presence in India’s mass-market passenger vehicle space by adding a compact three-row model alongside its existing SUV offering.
