February 4, 2026

Tata Motors has officially revealed the production version of its much-anticipated Harrier EV, marking a significant milestone in the company’s electric vehicle push. The reveal comes as the electric SUV moves closer to full-scale production and customer deliveries across India.

Production Begins, Deliveries Imminent

The Harrier EV has now rolled off the production line at Tata Motors’ Pune manufacturing facility, with deliveries to customers starting soon after. The company began making units this year following strong interest and bookings from early adopters.

Built on Tata’s advanced acti.ev Plus platform, the production Harrier EV retains the bold SUV design language of its internal combustion counterpart while incorporating distinctive electric-vehicle elements. These include a closed-grille front fascia and aero-optimized alloy wheels, giving the SUV a fresh, modern look tailored for an EV audience.

Multiple Variants and Powertrains

To appeal to a wide set of buyers, Tata Motors will offer the Harrier EV in multiple configurations. The model is available with rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) setups, thanks to single-motor and dual-motor options.

  • The 65 kWh battery paired with a single rear motor delivers brisk performance and solid range figures.
  • The 75 kWh battery variant with dual motors and AWD capability produces significantly more power and torque, along with enhanced traction and acceleration.

The all-wheel-drive Harrier EV is especially noteworthy as it marks Tata’s first mainstream electric SUV to feature this configuration, a move that broadens its appeal beyond urban buyers to those seeking better handling and capability.

Range and Charging

One of the headline figures for the Harrier EV is its impressive driving range. Certified estimates suggest up to 627 km on a single charge for the top-end variant, making it one of the longest-range electric SUVs offered in the Indian market. Fast-charging capability also means a significant amount of driving range can be added in a short period, addressing a common concern among EV buyers.

Features and Technology

Inside, the Harrier EV blends familiar SUV comfort with EV-specific technology. It comes equipped with a large touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, and advanced driver assistance systems. Some variants are expected to offer features such as panoramic sunroof, premium audio systems, and connected car tech to enhance the ownership experience.

A Flagship EV for Tata

The Harrier EV sits at the top of Tata Motors’ electric SUV lineup, above other electric models such as the Nexon EV, Punch EV, and Curvv EV. With its production version now revealed and deliveries starting, Tata is positioning the Harrier EV to compete strongly with other electric SUVs in the segment.
