On 30 Dec 2025, Ola Electric officially announced that its Roadster X+ — powered by the 4680 Bharat Cell battery pack — has received CMVR certification from Indian automotive authorities. This certification confirms that the motorcycle meets all safety and regulatory standards required for sale in India.

The announcement is significant because it marks a crucial step toward the commercial rollout of Ola’s high-performance electric motorcycle. With certification secured, Ola Electric is now positioned to begin deliveries once production and logistics are finalized.

The Roadster X+ is part of Ola’s premium Roadster series, offering superior performance, long range, and advanced rider-focused features. Key highlights of the Roadster X+ include:

  • Battery & Range: 9.1 kWh 4680 Bharat Cell battery with an estimated range of up to 500 km on a single charge.
  • Motor & Performance: Mid-mounted motor delivering smooth torque, top speed of ~125 km/h, and 0–40 km/h acceleration in ~2.7 seconds.
  • Riding Modes: Three selectable modes — Sports, Normal, and Eco — for performance and efficiency optimization.
  • Smart Display: 4.3-inch LCD display with navigation, connectivity, and real-time ride statistics.
  • Safety Features: Brake-by-wire system with single-channel ABS for enhanced braking control.
  • Operating System: MoveOS 5 integration for smart connectivity, notifications, and ride data.
  • Charging & Technology: Advanced Bharat Cell technology allows faster charging, improved energy density, and enhanced safety compared to older battery formats.

In addition to its technical features, the Roadster X+ highlights the rapid growth of India’s premium EV segment. With increasing consumer demand for long-range and high-performance electric two-wheelers, manufacturers are now focusing on advanced battery technology, smarter operating systems, and safer braking systems to differentiate their products. The Roadster X+ positions Ola Electric as a key player in this segment, appealing to early adopters who want a combination of range, performance, and innovative features.
