Skoda Auto India has confirmed that it will introduce the Kylaq Sportline in India later this year. The announcement signals an expansion of the Kylaq compact SUV range with a more design-focused variant, aimed at buyers who prefer a sportier visual identity without changes to the underlying mechanical package.
The Kylaq Sportline will continue with the same powertrain currently offered on the standard model. It will be powered by the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing around 114 bhp and 178 Nm of torque. Transmission choices are expected to remain unchanged, with both manual and automatic options available. Skoda has not indicated any performance-related upgrades for the Sportline variant.
The key differentiation for the Sportline will be its exterior styling. The variant is expected to feature darker design elements, including blacked-out alloy wheels and sportier exterior accents, giving the SUV a more aggressive road presence compared to the regular trims. As with other Sportline models from the brand, the focus is on visual appeal rather than mechanical enhancements.
Inside the cabin, the Kylaq Sportline is likely to carry forward the equipment offered on the higher variants of the standard Kylaq. This includes a modern touchscreen infotainment system, connected features, automatic climate control, and premium interior finishes. The cabin layout, space, and overall practicality are expected to remain unchanged.
Safety is also expected to be carried over without changes. The Kylaq is positioned as a strong offering in terms of safety, and the Sportline variant is expected to retain the same body structure, airbag setup, and electronic safety systems available on the regular model.
With the Kylaq Sportline, Skoda Auto is aiming to widen the appeal of its compact SUV by offering a sportier-looking alternative within the lineup. The variant is positioned as a cosmetic enhancement rather than a new performance-focused version, and it is expected to arrive in the Indian market later this year.
