March 4, 2026

Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has revealed two new ultra-luxury electric models, the Lac Hong 800S and Lac Hong 900S. The announcement forms part of the company’s broader restructuring of its global vehicle lineup and highlights its ambition to enter the premium luxury EV segment. Both vehicles are expected to reach production around 2027 as VinFast continues expanding its international presence.

The new models were introduced alongside a revised brand structure that separates the company’s vehicles into three segments. Lac Hong will represent the ultra-luxury electric vehicle line, VF will continue serving the mass-market EV segment, and the Green brand will focus on commercial mobility vehicles. This strategy is designed to create clearer product positioning as VinFast grows in global markets.

The Lac Hong name represents the most premium tier of VinFast’s future vehicle portfolio. The Lac Hong 800S and Lac Hong 900S join the previously announced 900 LX, forming a dedicated ultra-luxury electric vehicle range.

A New Ultra-Luxury Lac Hong Brand

By introducing this sub-brand, VinFast aims to compete in the high-end electric vehicle space where comfort, technology, and design play a critical role in attracting buyers. The company is positioning these vehicles as flagship models that showcase advanced engineering, luxury materials, and distinctive design identity.

Design Inspired by Vietnamese Culture

Both the Lac Hong 800S and 900S incorporate design themes inspired by Vietnamese heritage. The exterior styling includes a grille pattern influenced by bamboo elements and a wing-shaped emblem inspired by the Lac bird, a symbolic figure in Vietnamese culture.

Additional design cues reference traditional Vietnamese bronze drums and terraced rice fields. These patterns appear in subtle decorative elements across the vehicle’s bodywork and interior trim. The Lac Hong branding itself is presented in a stylised calligraphic form with gold-finished accents to emphasize the premium nature of the lineup.

Luxury-Focused Interior

Inside the cabin, VinFast has focused heavily on luxury and passenger comfort. Both models feature premium materials including Nappa leather upholstery, natural wood trim and metallic accents throughout the interior.

Key features include zero-gravity seating designed for long-distance comfort, power-assisted doors, advanced infotainment systems and a suite of modern driver assistance technologies. The overall cabin design is aimed at delivering a high-end luxury experience similar to other flagship electric vehicles in the global market.

The Lac Hong 900S sedan offers additional features aimed at chauffeur-driven customers. These include a privacy partition separating the driver and rear passengers, a star-style ambient roof lighting system and a large rear entertainment display. The rear cabin can also include a foldable worktable designed for business use while travelling.

Electric Performance and Platform

Both the 800S and 900S are built on a dedicated high-performance electric platform. VinFast has designed the vehicles with a tri-motor powertrain configuration that includes one motor at the front and two motors at the rear.

The combined system output is rated at up to around 460 kW, which is roughly equivalent to more than 600 horsepower. This configuration is expected to deliver strong acceleration and high-speed capability while maintaining the smooth driving characteristics expected in luxury vehicles.

The models will also feature a fully active suspension system intended to improve ride comfort and stability, particularly important for large luxury vehicles.

The Lac Hong 800S is positioned as a luxury electric SUV designed for buyers who prefer a spacious and elevated driving position. The Lac Hong 900S, meanwhile, is a large luxury electric sedan that focuses on executive-class comfort and rear-seat convenience.

Global Expansion Plans

VinFast plans to bring the Lac Hong 800S and 900S to production around 2027 as part of its long-term global strategy. The company has been expanding rapidly into international markets while continuing to develop new electric vehicle platforms and manufacturing capabilities.

With the introduction of the Lac Hong ultra-luxury line, VinFast is aiming to demonstrate its ability to compete not only in mainstream electric mobility but also in the high-end luxury EV segment.

The reveal of the 800S and 900S signals the company’s intention to position itself as a global electric vehicle manufacturer capable of delivering advanced technology, premium craftsmanship and distinctive design in its flagship models.
