Upcoming Maruti Suzuki SUVs 2026–2027: e-Vitara EV, 7-Seater Grand Vitara & New Brezza Revealed

India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, is gearing up for one of its most ambitious SUV expansion plans in recent years. As Indian buyers increasingly shift toward SUVs across price segments, the company is preparing a mix of electric, hybrid, compact, and three-row models to strengthen its presence between 2026 and 2027.

e-Vitara to Lead Maruti’s Electric SUV Journey

The biggest highlight in Maruti Suzuki’s future lineup is the e-Vitara, the brand’s first all-electric SUV for the Indian market. This model represents a major turning point for the company, which has so far focused largely on petrol, CNG, and hybrid technologies. The e-Vitara is expected to offer competitive driving range, modern connected features, advanced safety equipment, and fast-charging capability tailored for urban and highway use.

With EV adoption gradually picking up in India, the e-Vitara will enter a competitive space currently occupied by models like the Hyundai Creta EV and Tata’s growing electric portfolio. Industry observers believe this SUV will play a crucial role in shaping Maruti’s electric identity in the coming decade.

Three-Row Grand Vitara in Development

Building on the success of the Grand Vitara, Maruti Suzuki is also working on a larger, three-row version of the SUV. The extended model is expected to offer additional cabin space and enhanced practicality for bigger families. This move reflects the rising demand for 6- and 7-seater SUVs in India, especially among buyers upgrading from hatchbacks and sedans.

The upcoming three-row SUV is likely to retain petrol and strong hybrid powertrains while offering improved comfort features and safety technology. Once launched, it will compete directly with established players in the mid-size three-row segment.

Brezza Facelift to Keep the Momentum Alive

The Brezza has consistently remained one of India’s top-selling compact SUVs, and Maruti Suzuki is not taking that success for granted. A refreshed version of the Brezza is expected around 2026, featuring cosmetic updates, upgraded infotainment, and possibly enhanced driver-assistance features.

While the mechanical setup may remain largely unchanged, the facelift aims to keep the SUV fresh against newer rivals. With compact SUVs forming the backbone of the Indian market, maintaining Brezza’s appeal is critical for Maruti’s overall SUV strategy.

Fronx EV and Hybrid Possibilities

The Fronx, positioned as a sporty compact crossover, may also see expansion into electric and hybrid versions in the coming years. An electric Fronx could serve as a more affordable EV alternative below the e-Vitara, targeting city-focused buyers looking to make the switch to electric mobility.

Hybrid technology is another strong possibility, especially as Maruti continues investing in fuel-efficient and low-emission solutions. Such variants would strengthen the company’s presence in both traditional and next-generation powertrain segments.

Micro SUV to Target Entry-Level Buyers

In addition to larger SUVs, Maruti Suzuki is reportedly developing a new micro SUV positioned below the Brezza. This model is expected to target first-time SUV buyers and budget-conscious customers who want SUV styling with hatchback affordability.

The micro SUV segment has gained strong traction in India due to its practicality, higher ground clearance, and commanding driving position. Maruti’s entry into this space could further intensify competition among entry-level SUV offerings.

A Clear SUV-Focused Future

Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming launches clearly show a deliberate shift toward strengthening its SUV portfolio across all price bands. From affordable micro SUVs to electric mid-size models and family-friendly three-row vehicles, the company is preparing to cover every major SUV segment in the Indian market.
