TVS owned Norton Motorcycles has stepped up road testing of the upcoming Norton Atlas in India, and the latest spy shots reveal something important. The company is not just preparing a single model. It appears to be working on an additional variant that could expand the Atlas lineup before launch.

Engineers recently tested a new prototype on public roads, and several visible differences suggest Norton is fine tuning the motorcycle for the Indian market. This development indicates that TVS is moving steadily toward bringing the mid capacity adventure bike closer to production.

New Wheel Setup Points to Different Trim Strategy

The newly spotted test mule features a different wheel configuration compared to the earlier showcased versions. Instead of the previously seen setup, this prototype runs a 19 inch front wheel and a 17 inch rear alloy wheel. This combination typically improves versatility by balancing highway stability with light off road capability.

Norton has also removed some premium accessories from this version. The test bike does not show auxiliary fog lamps or hand guards that were present on earlier display models. The front suspension appears simpler as well, which may help control costs. These changes strongly suggest that Norton could introduce a more affordable variant alongside a higher specification model.

Proven 585 cc Parallel Twin Expected to Power the Atlas

The Norton Atlas will likely use a 585 cc liquid cooled parallel twin engine with a 270 degree crank configuration.
