Mahindra & Mahindra has recorded one of its strongest-ever launch responses, with the newly introduced XUV 7XO and XEV 9S together crossing 93,000 bookings within the first four hours of bookings opening. The milestone was achieved on the opening day itself, highlighting the scale of demand for Mahindra’s latest SUV offerings.
The company confirmed that bookings for both models opened simultaneously and witnessed an unprecedented surge almost immediately. Such a volume within a short window is considered rare in the Indian passenger vehicle market, especially across two different powertrain categories.
Massive booking response for XUV 7XO and XEV 9S
According to Mahindra, the combined bookings crossed the 93,000 mark in just four hours, indicating strong anticipation built around both launches. The pace of bookings suggests that a large number of customers were waiting to place orders as soon as the booking window opened.
This response reflects strong brand trust and buyer confidence, particularly at a time when customers are increasingly cautious and research-driven in their purchase decisions.
Demand split across ICE and electric SUVs
The XUV 7XO represents Mahindra’s latest offering in the internal combustion SUV space, targeting buyers looking for a premium, feature-rich vehicle with a strong road presence. Early demand suggests buyers are responding positively to its modern design, spacious cabin and technology-focused positioning.
At the same time, the XEV 9S marks Mahindra’s growing push into the electric SUV segment. The strong booking response for the electric model highlights increasing acceptance of EVs among Indian buyers, especially when positioned as full-size, high-feature SUVs rather than entry-level urban cars.
Booking value signals strong buyer confidence
Mahindra has indicated that the cumulative booking value of the XUV 7XO and XEV 9S runs into several thousand crore rupees. This reflects customers’ willingness to commit early, even before large-scale deliveries and extended test-drive availability.
The response also underlines the growing appetite for SUVs across higher price brackets, with buyers prioritising space, technology and brand reliability.
