In a significant move, Mahindra Racing joins other notable manufacturers like Porsche, Nissan, Stellantis, and Lola in showcasing its commitment to the upcoming Gen4 regulations, effective from 2026. Mahindra Commits to Formula E Gen4 Era for Future Success
Frederic Bertrand, CEO and Team Principal of Mahindra Racing, emphasized the need to maintain manufacturer status to enhance performance levels and create synergies between the racing division and Mahindra’s automotive sector. This includes developing advanced technologies that may eventually influence mainstream EVs, such as the BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase competitor segment where performance and innovation matter.
Following a promising finish in Season 11, where Mahindra secured fourth in the teams’ championship, the organization seeks to capitalize on this momentum. The upcoming Season 12, beginning December 6 with the Sao Paulo E-Prix, will feature the team’s new M12Electro race car. The model carries the Born EV branding, characteristic of Mahindra’s consumer EV line-up, including products such as the XEV 9S.
