Mahindra & Mahindra has confirmed that its upcoming B07 electric SUV will launch in 2027, positioning it as a major volume driver in the company’s expanding EV portfolio.
The announcement was made by Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director and CEO (Auto & Farm Sector), during a recent interaction outlining Mahindra’s medium-term product roadmap. The confirmation is significant because it signals the next phase of Mahindra’s dedicated electric SUV expansion beyond its current Born Electric lineup.
The B07 is expected to be derived from the BE.07 concept that was first showcased as part of Mahindra’s Born Electric vision. The concept previewed a modern, coupe-style SUV built on a dedicated electric architecture, indicating the brand’s shift toward purpose-built EV platforms rather than converted internal combustion models.
Mahindra has already introduced production models based on its Born Electric strategy, and the B07 is intended to strengthen that portfolio further. By 2027, the company aims to have a broader EV lineup capable of addressing multiple SUV segments, with the B07 expected to contribute significantly to overall volumes.
The model is anticipated to be underpinned by Mahindra’s INGLO platform, a scalable electric architecture designed to support advanced battery packs, high-efficiency electric motors and over-the-air software capabilities. This platform allows flexibility in battery capacity, drivetrain configuration and vehicle size, enabling Mahindra to tailor products for different market needs.
While detailed specifications such as battery size, driving range and performance figures have not yet been disclosed, the positioning as a volume driver suggests that the B07 could target a high-demand segment within India’s electric SUV space.
Mahindra’s EV strategy focuses on building scale while improving cost efficiencies through localisation and platform sharing. The company has been steadily investing in electric vehicle technology, supplier partnerships and manufacturing upgrades to support its long-term electrification goals.
The confirmation of a 2027 launch timeline also provides clarity to dealers and stakeholders about the product pipeline. In an increasingly competitive EV market, visibility into upcoming launches is critical for network planning and capacity alignment.
India’s electric SUV segment is expected to expand significantly over the next few years as charging infrastructure improves and battery costs gradually decline. Mahindra’s decision to introduce the B07 during this growth phase aligns with its broader objective of strengthening its position in the domestic EV market.
With the B07 slated to join the lineup in 2027, Mahindra is reinforcing its commitment to dedicated electric platforms and long-term electrification, positioning the SUV as a central contributor to its future sales volumes.
